Boekenhoutskloof

BOEKENHOUSTKLOOF is one of the most beautiful South African wineries, which delivers unique vintages every year

A long time ago (in 1776 to be precise), a small farm called Boekenhoustkloof (which can be translated as “the beech ravine”) was created in the Franschhoek Valley. As the name of this valley suggests, the Huguenots were the first inhabitants to exploit the land and produce wine. In 1993, wine enthusiasts bought the estate and launched a vineyard development plan that now makes it possible to present grape varieties as varied as: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Franc, Sémillon, Viognier. Marc Carter Kent is the winemaker and director. He is known for his unconventional practices in blending grape varieties and in winemaking.
